In this class, the teacher reads the book throughout the week and models how to think deeply, ask questions, monitor comprehension, and so much more. This course is ideal for kids who know the alphabet and basic sounds, but still need to make the leap to reading words.
Each week we focus on different comprehension skills and strategies that will take your little learners on a reading journey like never before. Most importantly, each week will have a vocabulary and grammar focus to develop the full range of basic skills in English Language Arts. In addition to the book of the week read aloud, students will also receive, read, and discuss a non-fiction reader.
While you can certainly buy copies of the books we'll be reading, we'll also have videos of the books being read that can be watched at any time outside of class.
Minimum 3 students. Maximum 5 students.
