Second Grade - Reading Workshop - Four Week Blocks
The second grade reading program helps students transform into stronger independent readers who have a growing understanding of grammar concepts and reading comprehension skills. Each four week section of the class will cover the outlined skills.
In this class, the teacher reads the book throughout the week and models how to think deeply, ask questions, monitor comprehension, and so much more. Each week we focus on different comprehension skills and strategies that will take your little learners on a reading journey like never before. Most importantly, each week will have a vocabulary and grammar focus to develop the full range of basic skills in English Language Arts. In addition to the book of the week read aloud, students will also receive, read, and discuss a non-fiction reader.
While you can certainly buy copies of the books we'll be reading, we'll also have videos of the books being read that can be watched at any time outside of class.
